How to move off your old ERP without downtime
Most ERP projects fail at the switch-over: everything changes in one weekend, and billing or stock stops when something breaks. BOEY replaces the old system in steps instead.
Step 1: start beside the old system
Your customers, suppliers and products are exported from the current system and imported into BOEY. Numbering, roles, approval rules and the chart of accounts are set up the way your company works. The old system keeps running untouched.
Step 2: move one module at a time
- Sourcing desk: RFQs, quote comparison and pricing. It usually has no home in the old system, so it moves first with little risk.
- Purchasing and credit control: purchase orders, call-outs and credit checks on customer orders.
- Accounting: vouchers, ledgers and trial balance, with invoices and payments posted automatically.
Each module goes live only when your team has run real work through it.
Step 3: switch the old one off
When the last module has moved and balances match between the two systems, the old ERP is retired. There is no switch-over weekend at any point.
What to prepare
- Master lists: customers, suppliers or factories, products, payment terms.
- Open orders and opening balances for the module being moved.
- One person who owns each module on your side.
